Tighe Galvin has lived in Nevada for most of his life and is running not to make empty promises—but to restore power where it belongs: with the people of this state.

He is a first-generation American, born in Las Vegas to Irish parents who came to the United States in search of a better life. Tighe grew up in Henderson and eventually attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, originally pursuing a degree in history.

He was active in the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity and was the Chief of Operations of RebelSat UNLV, the first satellite initiative in Nevada aimed at building CubeSats for space-based research.

Passionate about learning, Tighe now serves as a special education teacher at the same Title I elementary school he once attended as a student. Every day, he works with families striving to build better futures for their children—just as his own family did—and has seen firsthand how policy decisions made in Carson City directly affect classrooms, neighborhoods, and Nevada’s children.

Tighe is also active as a cantor at his church and is training for seminary.

Tighe became involved in politics at 15 as a volunteer for the Bernie Sanders 2016 Presidential campaign. He was eventually an intern for the Adam Laxalt gubernatorial campaign in 2018 and has worked inside both political machines. He came to reject them.

He now serves as the Chairman of the Libertarian Party of Clark County and is committed to fighting the corrupt two-party system.

Why Tighe Is Running

Tighe believes Nevadans deserve a government that serves them—not corporations, special interests, or political insiders. He has pledged never to vote for corporate welfare or taxpayer-funded handouts that turn Nevada’s communities into playgrounds for billion-dollar projects like Formula 1 while everyday families struggle.

Tighe will fight to reduce federal overreach in Nevada, to protect the state’s sovereignty, and will push back against unelected agencies imposing mandates on local communities.

This campaign is about giving Nevadans a real choice—a candidate who believes in freedom, accountability, and putting our state and its people first.
