Fixing Education
Parents should choose the education that fits their child, and teachers should have the freedom to teach. As a CCSD special education teacher, Tighe supports expanding school choice while cutting administrative bloat and putting resources into public school classrooms. Decisions belong closer to students—with families, educators, and local School Organizational Teams.
Tighe will introduce legislation to expand school choice and give parents and teachers greater control over their schools.
Lowering Costs & Protecting Workers
Working Nevadans deserve the freedom to earn a living, build a business, and afford a home. Tighe supports cutting barriers that drive up costs, ending corporate welfare, and keeping Nevada income-tax free. As a union member, he also defends workers’ freedom to organize, strike, and bargain for a better deal.
Tighe will introduce legislation to audit state spending and expose waste and corporate giveaways.
Real Criminal Justice Reform
Keep Nevadans safe while protecting their freedom. Tighe supports decriminalizing victimless conduct, ending civil asset forfeiture, and focusing police resources on violent crime. Government officials must answer for violating your rights, and people leaving prison deserve a real chance to rebuild their lives.
Tighe will introduce legislation to release nonviolent prisoners and end qualified immunity.
Defending the Guard
Nevada’s Guard members should not be sent into Washington’s undeclared wars. Tighe supports defending our communities against federal overreach and protecting your freedom to speak, protest, and boycott—including boycotts of foreign governments. Nevadans should never be punished for peaceful political dissent.
Tighe will introduce Defend the Guard legislation to prevent Nevada Guard deployments into foreign hostilities without a congressional declaration of war.
